This is the first of our diesel courses and will cover general principles of tuning a modern, common-rail diesel EFI engine. As a part of the course, the EFILive tuning system will be used to tune EFI University's latest school vehicle, a 2007i GMC DURAMAX LMM diesel truck!

Course Information
Diesel 101 consists of a total of 2 days and focuses mainly on classroom discussions followed by a live tuning demonstration of a GMC DURAMAX LMM diesel using EFILive on a chassis dynomometer. This class begins with a general overview of the basic functions and theory involved in controlling a diesel engine. In depth discussions about each sensor and actuator used, and their functions are held throughout the session. Once the diesel system and its components have been discussed, the discussion moves to the specifics of tuning the DURAMAX diesel using EFILive. Once the fundamentals have been explained, a live demonstration of tuning on a chassis dynamometer will bring all the concepts into practice.
Who Should Attend?
While this class focuses specifically on the DURAMAX diesel powerplant and EFILive, this course is also very well suited to anyone who is interested in learning about tuning modern, common-rail diesel EFI engines. The class will give you all the information and basic skills to start on your way to building and safely tuning your own diesel systems.
